Product Overview
What is there to say about this iconic wine that hasn’t already been said? I guess that classics are classics for a reason.Every year when Sassicaia releases, the feral side of us all comes out. There is absolutely no satiating the lust Ontario has for this wine, and I can’t really blame us.In a world where cult wines are sometimes just naked emperors, Tenuta San Guide has been producing an increasingly elegant wine without the insane price increases. Stylistically, it keeps inching towards precision without sacrificing intensity or flavour.I will share a fun fact….Sassicaia takes its name from ‘sasso’ meaning rocks and ‘aia’ meaning hillside.2006 was a warmer vintage, but don’t let that scare you. They benefit from beautifully cool nights that allow the grapes a reprieve and the ability to maintain freshness.
